Church Picnic

Our annual church picnic will be Saturday, August 28, beginning at 4:00 p.m. Please plan to attend. We always have a wonderful time together. This year the picnic will be at the Eastman Cabins, shelter number 28.

The church will be supplying the hamburgers, hotdogs, and drinks. You are asked to bring covered dishes.

A sign up sheet is on the bulletin board for those who plan to attend. We need a count so we can purchase the right amount of food for the picnic.

Providence Quartet

The Providence Quartet from South Carolina will be in concert with us on Sunday, August 15, at 11:00 a.m. This group is no stranger to our church; they worship with us every year abd we are excited to have them back.

We will be receiving a love offering for them; also, they will have products for sale.

Men's Fellowship

The men's fellowship will be meeting on Saturday, August 7, at 11:30 a.m. at the Texas Roadhouse on Stone Drive. All men are encouraged to attend.

Finger Food and Ice Cream Social

Please mark your calendars for Sunday night, July 25. Following the evening worship service, we will be gathering at the Pastor Winston Sweeney Activities Building for a church-wide social.

This month's activity will be finger foods and homemade ice cream!

We are asking that you bring sandwiches, hotdogs, chips, and other finger foods for all of us to enjoy. If you have an ice cream maker, we would like for you to bring it and the ingredients to make ice cream.

This will be a wonderful time together as a church family, so please plan now to attend and enjoy the food and fellowship.

Vacation Bible School Program

On Sunday, June 20, during the 11:00 a.m. worship service, our children will be telling us all about what they learned in Vacation Bible School. Please plan to attend and support the children. This is always a very special time for our church.

Vacation Bible School

It's Vacation Bible School time again! Our Vacation Bible School this year will be June 14-18, from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

The theme this year is "Hero Headquarters." The students will learn that Heroes do the Unexpected, Heroes take Action, Heroes step out on Faith, Heroes save the Day, and Heroes stand for Truth.

Ages preschool through sixth grade are invited. On Wednesday night we will be having a pizza party and on Friday we'll have a cookout!

Please pray for a successful Bible School this year. Also, invite every child that you know to attend.

Berea Ministries

On Sunday night, June 27, we will have Fred Dotson with us. Brother Fred is representing Berea Ministries and he will be sharing with us how the Lord is working in our churches through Berea Ministries. A love offering will be received at the conclusion of the service. Please be here for this special service.

Maple Grove

We will once again be going to Maple Grove Restaurant in Unicoi for supper on Saturday, June 26. We will be leaving the church parking lot at 4:00 p.m. A sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board. Please sign up so we can make reservations.

Youth 30 Hour Famine

The youth would like to thank everyone for supporting them during their recent 30 Hour Famine. They raised $1,036.00 and had three World Vision children "adopted."

Baby Diaper Drive for Hope Center

The Ladies Auxiliary will be sponsoring a baby diaper drive during the month of June for the Hope Center in Greeneville. Please bring items anytime during the month of June and leave them in the coat room. Thank you for helping!

Wade Spencer

Please join us on Saturday night, May 8, at 7:00 p.m. for a special concert with Wade Spencer. Wade is no stranger to us; this will be his third time here. His music and message will bless your heart. A love offering will be received. Wade will also have materials for sale.

Ladies Banquet

The 4th annual Ladies Banquet, "Hats Off to Christian Ladies," will be held on May 22, 2010, at 4:00 p.m. at the Activities Building. The reservation deadline is Sunday, May 16. Click this paragraph for more detail.

Farmer's Daughter Restaurant

We will be going to Farmer's Daughter on Saturday, April 17, for an "old time" breakfast. We will be leaving the church at 7:30 a.m. A sign up sheet will be available soon.

Youth 30 Hour Famine

The Fishers of Men Youth Group are now taking sponsors for their 30 hour famine, scheduled for April 23 and 24. They are raising money to send to an organization which feeds hungry children. Will you sponsor one of our youth?

Make your check out to Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church and give it to one of our youth. This will help them reach their goal.

A report from the youth will be given at a later date.

Easter Services on Sunday, April 4

Sunday, April 4, is Easter!

We will be having sunrise service at 7:30 a.m.

After sunrise service, we will be going to the Golden Corral for breakfast (around 8:00 a.m.)

Sunday school begins at 10:00 a.m.

Morning worship begins at 11:00 a.m. We will be having communion during the worship service. Our communion is open to all who are Christians; visitors are very welcome.

There will be no evening service on Easter.

Easter Egg Hunt

Our annual Easter Egg Hunt will be Saturday, April 3, at 11:00 a.m. We need people to please bring plastic eggs filled with candy; these can be placed in the foyer anytime. Please invite all the children you know to hunt Easter eggs on Saturday!

Spaghetti Supper

We have planned a spaghetti supper for Saturday night, March 27, at 5:00 p.m. A menu has been placed on the bulletin board. Please sign up for the food that you would be willing to bring for the supper. Also, reservations must be made so that we know how much food to prepare, so please do so on the sign-up sheet. This is sure to be a great time of fellowship.

Movie Night!!

Everyone is invited to come out for our FREE movie night on Saturday, February 20, at 6:00 p.m. We will be showing "Fireproof." Free popcorn and drinks will be available! We will be meeting at the Pastor Winston Sweeney Activities Building.

Tennessee Seniors Retreat

Please join Pastor Jeff and Dennah in Pigeon Forge for the annual Tennessee Seniors Retreat this March 15-17. Brochures are located in the foyer. Full payment and registration is to be turned in to Linda Bowlin by February 7. The price includes all retreat fees, two nights lodging, delux continental breakfast, snacks, and door prizes.

The speaker is Dave Thomas; he will be a blessing to you with his mature insight into life and with a tremendous sense of humor. Special musical guests are Barry Scott and Second Wind. This will be a great time for all that attend. If you have any questions, please see Pastor Jeff.

Men's Fellowship

The Men's Fellowship will be scheduled quarterly this year. Pastor Jeff encourages all the men to join them for the time together. The first meeting will be on February 6, at Texas Roadhouse at 11:30 a.m.

"Souper" Bowl Fellowship

We will be having a "Souper" Bowl fellowship tonight after the evening worship service. Please bring either soup, sandwiches, or dessert to the Pastor Winston Sweeney Activities Building and join us for a good time of food and fellowship after the evening service.

Veterans Recognition Day Pages

Youth Retreat Update

During the morning worship service on Sunday, January 10, the youth will be giving a presentation about their recent trip to Gatlinbug for the annual Extreme Winter Retreat. The youth and sponsors attended this event December 27-29. It was a great time of fellowship and worship. Please plan to attend and support our youth.

Winter Weather Proceedings Reminder

In case of bad weather in our area, you will receive a phone call from the pastor through our phone call system concerning service times. Please note that if services are called off for Sunday morning, the evening services are also called off. If the pastor does not have your phone number in the system, please let him know.

New Year's Eve

There will be no Wednesday night service on December 30. Instead, we are moving the service to Thursday night, December 31, for our annual New Year's Eve celebration. We will begin at 8:00 p.m. with fellowship and games and continue until 12:00 midnight. Please bring games and finger foods for an evening of fun!

Youth Retreat

Please pray for the youth and sponsors as they travel to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, for the annual Extreme Youth Winter Retreat. Please pray that God will do a work in the hearts of our youth. Pray for the speakers and the music groups that will perform.

The retreat is scheduled for December 27-29. They will be leaving the church following the morning worship service on the 27th.

Young Adults Christmas Celebration

The young adults will be having their Christmas celebration on Friday, December 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the Pastor Winston Sweeney Activities Building. We will be ordering pizza, so please bring money to help pay the cost. Also, you are asked to bring a gift and a dessert.

Ladies Ornament Exchange

All ladies of the church are invited to an ornament exchange party at the Pastor Winston Sweeney Activities Building on Tuesday, December 15, at 7:00 p.m. Please bring a wrapped ornament and finger foods.

Poinsettias

The beautiful poinsettias in the sanctuary have been placed in honor or memory of loved ones. Thank you for helping make our building beautiful for the Christmas season.

If you placed a plant in the sanctuary, you may take it home with you on December 20th following the morning worship service.

Candlelight Communion

During the evening worship service at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 13, we will be having candlelight communion.

Choir Cantata

The church choir will provide a beautiful cantata at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 13.

Wexford House Singing for Christmas

We want to encourage everyone to join us at Wexford House on Tueesday night, December 8, at 7:00 p.m. At our December service, we try to sing a lot of Christmas songs for the residents. We will need plenty of help with these songs.

The residents really enjoy our coming by once a month to see them and to worship with them. Please come out and help make their Christmas a little more special as we smile, fellowship, and sing for them.

Ladies Auxiliary Christmas Party

The Ladies Auxiliary Christmas get together will be on Monday, December 7, at 7:00 p.m. at the Pastor Winston Sweeney Activities Building. This is always a great time together, so please plan to attend if you are involved with the Women Active for Christ group.

Junior Church Christmas Program

The Junior Church will present their Christmas program on Sunday, December 6, at 11:00 a.m.

Church Christmas Dinner

The church Christmas dinner will be Friday, Dec. 4, at 6:30 p.m. at the Pastor Winston Sweeney Activities Building.

Personal Note from the Pastor

The pastor and his family would like to thank everyone who had a part in the Pastor Appreciation Celebration. The cards, notes, and gifts are greatly appreciated. You will never know what they mean to us. We thank God that we have this opportunity to serve such a great people as you are. Thank you for your friendship, and for allowing us to be used of God in the area of Pastor and Family of Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church. These words seem so little, but please know what is in our hearts. If only words could describe.

Youth Sunday

The youth will be conducting the services on Sunday, November 29. They will be teaching Sunday School and will be the leadership in the morning worship service. A special speaker will be with us, as well. At the conclusion of the service, a love offering will be received to help the general fund of the youth account. They will use this money to help with Angel Tree shopping and their annual Winter Retreat expenses.

Veterans' Day Service

A special Veterans' Day service will be held Sunday, November 8, at 11:00 a.m. Veterans whose names were turned in to the committee will be honored. Also, there will be other elements in the program that we are keeping under cover. Please invite your family and friends to this special service. We are also asking that you wear read, white, and/or blue for this special service.

We believe you will be blessed because you attend this service. Also, we know God will be glorified in the service.

Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes

Don't forget that Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes need to be turned in by Sunday, November 15. It is indeed a great opportunity for our church to partner with Franklin Graham and Samaritan's Purse in this project. Needy children will receive Christmas gifts and the Gospel. Thank you for helping in this project!

Fall Fest - October 28

Our annual Fall Fest will be Wednesday night, October 28, beginning at 6:30 p.m. We will be having hot dogs and drinks provided. You are asked to bring chips, desserts, and other items for snack time.

We will also be having Trunk-R-Treat. Please bring candy for the children.

Children (and adults that wish) may dress up. Please do not wear anything that would be contrary to our beliefs (no ghost, devil, witch, etc.).

Plan now to attend! Make the children feel appreciated. Adults will have fun, too!

Web Changes

The new webmaster would like to thank Connie for all the work she has previously done to develop this site. She was no longer able to maintain it, so I have volunteered to try. I have made a few changes and have some ideas that I will probably be using in the future. Any changes that I make are only to build on the hard work that Connie has already done. Thank you, Connie, for making this web site possible.
